Activities & duties
Supply Chain position encompasses primarily Procurement responsibilities (90%), and some Materials & Planning support (10%).
This position manages purchased material, and all Supply Chain personnel at this facility. This includes buyers, junior buyers and other Supply Chain personnel. These position will have direct reports.
Deliver cost reduction projects of 3-5% of responsible spend annually.
Implement cost reduction projects developed by commodity managers for material at the facility.
Experienced negotiator with multiple approaches to choose from depending on circumstances.
Demonstrated history of leading successful continuous improvement projects.
Knowledgeable in the fabrication of metal stamping, machine parts, castings, plastic injection molding, overlays, user interfaces, electronic parts, PCB assemblies or other areas of responsibility.
Experienced with standard business financial documents and means of measuring and tracking important supply chain KPI’s.
Successful collaboration with other departments especially quality, materials, production planning, engineering, and customer support.
Created “should cost” and total landed cost models.
Qualifications, Educations and Experience
15 years' experience in supply chain or operations including 10 years' experience in purchasing.
College degree from accredited university in supply chain, operations, or technical field.
Master’s degree preferred.
Post graduate degree or supply chain certificate required if bachelor’s degree is not in supply chain.
MS Office proficiency required, advanced Excel proficiency required.
Practical experience working in ERP or other business planning system.
Demonstrated skills in spend analysis to create strategic sourcing plans.
Bilingual language required Spanish and English.
Experience managing de-centralized multi-cultural teams preferred.
Certified six sigma green or black belt preferred.
Operations / manufacturing experience of high volume production required.
Lean manufacturing experience / education preferred.
Proven experience in project planning, estimating benefits, ROI, and timeline.
Successfully led projects with high efficiency of completing project on time on budget.
